Young Children Priority One
Mom's Day Baby Shower - Annually the Saturday before Mother's Day, beginning in 2000. Clubs solicit donations of baby care items from customers at all Hy-Vee stores.
Pumpkin Day Baby and Pre-School Supplies Drive - In 2000 and 2001, the Saturday before Halloween. Similar to the Baby Shower.
Immunization Clinics - Clubs and Health Clinics manned sites throughout the Metro area to provide immunization to young children.
Children's Miracle Network - Members manned telephones during the annual fundraising campaign.
Kiwanis for Katrina's Children - In 2005, clubs raised $17,595 to benefit Young Children and school-age children affected by Hurricane Katrina.
Youth Service
Student Research Award - Annually present a Kiwanis award to an entrant in the Kansas City Science and Engineering Fair. The 2003 award was presented to Ethan Roth at Barstow School.
Key Club Leadership College - Provided training for Key Club Leaders in 1999 and 2000
Community Service
Stop Hunger Food Drive - Clubs solicited donations from customers of Apple Markets for food for Harvesters in 2000 and 2001.
Flu Shots - Clubs manned sites throughout the Metro area to help provide flu shots to adults in 2001 and 2002.
